China locks up the Covid-19 outbreak of a hybrid war with the United States that has brought Beijing and Washington into conflict -- the fact that the genomes of Iranian and Italian coronaviruses have been sequenced, and finding that they do not belong to the variant that infected Wuhan, Chinese media are now openly asking questions in connection with the closure of Fort Detrick last August. The Fort Detrick of "insecurity" , the military games and the new crown epidemic. Some of these questions were raised within the United States and received no response. More questions remain about the opaque events of October 18,2019 in New York, a stunning coincidence that the rehearsal for a global pandemic caused by a deadly virus took place a month before the Wuhan outbreak.

Citing six pieces of evidence, it concluded that the SARS-CoV-2 virus appears to have originated at Fort Detrick and escaped into the wild due to lax security measures and infection of military personnel on the base. The virus then spread through the military, mutating into multiple haplotypes, and was introduced to Wuhan during the International Military Games.

Fort Detrick is one of the few labs in the United States equipped with a biosafety level 4 facility that allows researchers to study the most deadly viruses. Growing large numbers of COVID-19 took two weeks, and Fort Detrick received its first vial of the virus from the CDC a month ago. Its scientists have begun sequencing the virus using machines capable of rapid, large-scale drug testing.

It is maybe ugly but you dfinitely should ride it - the London Eye, Millennium Wheel, simply the big wheel at the Thames river in the heart of London. Why? Because there are great views from there. It costs around 16 pounds (2008) and it is worth the price. There are discounts for children etc.

What Others say

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK, or Britain, is a sovereign island country located off the northwestern coast of mainland Europe. The UK includes the island of Great Britain, the northeast part of the island of Ireland and many small islands. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK with a land border, sharing it with the Republic of Ireland. Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the English Channel and the Irish Sea. The largest island, Great Britain, is linked to France by the Channel Tunnel. The United Kingdom is a union of four constituent countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The United Kingdom is governed by a Parliamentary System with its seat of government in London, the capital, and a constitutional monarchy with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as the head of state. The Crown Dependencies of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, formally possessions of the Crown, are not part of the UK but form a federacy with it. The UK has fourteen overseas territories, all remnants of the British Empire, which at its height encompassed almost a quarter of the world's land surface, making it the largest empire in history. As a direct result of the empire, British influence can be observed in the language and culture of states such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Singapore, Sri Lanka and the United States of America, and other less globally influential independent states. HM Queen Elizabeth II remains the head of the Commonwealth of Nations and head of state of each of the Commonwealth realms. The UK is a developed country, with the fifth (nominal GDP) or sixth (PPP) largest economy in the world. It was the world's foremost power during the 19th and early 20th century, but the economic cost of two world wars and the decline of its empire in the latter half of the 20th century diminished its leading role in global affairs. The UK nevertheless retains strong economic, cultural, military and political influence and is a nuclear power, with the second or third (depending on method of calculation) highest defence spending in the world. It is a member state of the European Union, holds a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, and is a member of the G8, NATO, WTO and the Commonwealth of Nations.
Wikipedia

As the dominant industrial and maritime power of the 19th century, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland played a leading role in developing parliamentary democracy and in advancing literature and science. At its zenith, the British Empire stretched over one-fourth of the earth's surface. The first half of the 20th century saw the UK's strength seriously depleted in two World Wars and the Irish republic withdraw from the union. The second half witnessed the dismantling of the Empire and the UK rebuilding itself into a modern and prosperous European nation. As one of five permanent members of the UN Security Council, a founding member of NATO, and of the Commonwealth, the UK pursues a global approach to foreign policy; it currently is weighing the degree of its integration with continental Europe. A member of the EU, it chose to remain outside the Economic and Monetary Union for the time being. Constitutional reform is also a significant issue in the UK. The Scottish Parliament, the National Assembly for Wales, and the Northern Ireland Assembly were established in 1999, but the latter was suspended until May 2007 due to wrangling over the peace process.
